adsl/bt land line stuff

Am going to organise dsl for my parents, but am just a little curious about the bt land line thing..

They have a bt line, but pay god-knows-who for the rental... I know it was powergen, but i think they changed, and now my dad's on about getting it from british gas... is a wholesale line like theirs still ok for adsl or do they need to have the account with bt?

no its fine mate.

They will be paying bt for the rental but then paying someone else for the calls.
