DVD player knackered?

I have a LG DVD player on my PC and its been fine.  However it is now refusing to play DVDs

I`ve tried opening them via media player or power DVD and I keep getting the `insert disc` message or `no disc in drive` message.

Power is OK & it accepts and ejects fine.  Its displayed in my device manager ok as well

This behaviour occurs with all discs?

Yep..including ones that have previously worked in the drive

Sounds more like warranty time to me.

I have a PC world 5 minutes from me.  I checked their site and showed plenty of basic dvd players from about ÃÆ'ââ,¬Å¡Ãƒâ€šÃ,£18-00.  Off I trundle only to find no DVD players under ÃÆ'ââ,¬Å¡Ãƒâ€šÃ,£29.99....

Bought one from the dodgy shop up the road and I`m just taking my new dvd out of the box to check it hasn`t been used before

Now where did I put the receipt & box for my old drive
