Another suggestion... is it possible to have an option to make a post sticky? :?:  I looked hard but couldn't see how to do it.

Damarr

I might be able to find out, if I was an admin or mod. *ahem*   :D

Undergrid

There is a way when you post or edit a post.  By default you need to be an MOD to do it but that can be changed by the Admin..

I shall have a look right now...

Tricky

Nah, it isn't there I'm afraid. I can lock, delete and move topics but not make them sticky. Maybe the phpBB software doesn't support it.

Damarr

I'm pretty sure it does. If you look at the icons on the index for this forum, theres one for sticky threads. I guess it just well hidden, or only for admins.

Undergrid

There is trust me, you can set normal sticky or announcment..

Check out the post in the Anouncements forum of my clans new forums..

And thats standard phpBB2

I've just seen a sticky post in the news section as proof. I've had yet another look - maybe I'm going blind. I can see how to make something into an announcement but that isn't the same thing...

Well someone made this post sticky and it wasn't me!! By default, any registered user should be able to make a post sticky -- may be only the person that created the first post? I've seen the option.

Undergrid

The permissions to do it can be modified on a per-forum basis.  Look just under the "Notify me when a reply is posted" checkbox and there shoule be two or three radio buttons:

Post topic as:  "Normal"   "Sticky"   "Announcement"

I only get two radio buttons - normal and announcement. I have also tried doing a new post in case the first one won't let me edit it to become stick.... No luck yet...  :?

are you board administrator?

i've got sticky as an option..

Tricky

I'm a mod for teamwork (where I've been trying to make a post sticky) but I'm not an admin.

Undergrid

Don't know then, can't work out what's wrong without access to the admin pannel.
