In a moment of insanity and a looooong time (2 years?) after the last BF2 patch EA have released a new Beta patch for public testing...

http://www.fileplay.net/file/5123/battlefield-2-v1-5-beta-patch-1

You need to be patched to 1.41 for this to work and it's a biggy. 1.2 gigs. Adds new map, proper widescreen support (1920x1200 here I come!!111) and you no longer need the cd in the drive.

p.s anyone tried Battlefield Heroes Beta, I got a key yesterday, will try it on Saturday ;)

Cooooo, I haven't played Battlefield 2 in ages. I have it installed, but not bothered playing it lol

Quote from: Paul on April 30, 2009, 01:11:27 PMAll Battlefield 2 games (including the booster packs) for £5!
It's showing up as "Dispatched from and sold by findprice.", "£4.53 + £1.94 shipping". That's more than £5!

It was £5.73 at the Hut the other day, but it's gone up to £7.73 there now.
Cave Cricetum! :hammering:

Anyway, we should have a BF2 blast and get a proper hamster squad running around and kicking ass (= dying repeatedly).

Yes, we should. Preferably invade a server that rotates maps, not the same one over and over :D

Cool, I like this idea. Baggsy me squad leader. I will run the squad as a democracy. Any dissenters will be shot.  :cop:

Arathrael

Fine with me. When I was squad leader the other night, I couldn't remember how to select commands on the map, so I kept telling Paul to 'attack that patch of grass over there' and 'defend that crate'.

I was wondering what was so important about that patch of grass

Tricky when you do re-install BF2, stick to 1.41 for now, more servers are on 1.41 than with the beta patch, you can have two BF2 installs (one with 1.41 and one with 1.50) but its a bit of a faff...
