is quite good. At the moment I'm playing as the empire - I have regiments of stormtroopers, at-st's, scout bikes, acclimator(sp?) and Victory Class Star Destroyers under my command :D.

In the main campaign the only units you have to use are only the ones you bring to the battle with you, so you can't really charge in gung-ho like you can in Dawn of War. Although apparently its different in the Skirmish mode, both sides have bases and you can charge at each other with lots of cool and different star wars units. Not only can you fight on the ground but you can also have huge space battles :D. Most of the star destroyers also come with squadrons of tie fighters - you can zoom way and in and out, so you can either zoom out and watch the star destroyers or zoom in and watch the tie fighters zoom around. Theres also a "movie camera" option where the camera takes on a movie perspective and zooms in on different parts of the battle, which is a nice addition :D.

The rebels have their own units, but I dunno much about them as I'm too busy blowing them up . I have seen Mon Calamari Crusiers and blockade runners - they didn't last that long against my star destroyers though :D. I also get Darth Vader to command, he's quite a tough bugger, took out an entire rebel regiment on his own 8O. The construction of the Death Star is well underway, which I will also get to play with :D

Anyone else got this game or planning to get it? Would like to try out the online option :D

Am quite enjoying this game.. I'm not quite up to the point paul was when he made the first post in this thread although I've just unlocked victory class star destroyers, so I'm looking forward to using them to flatten more rebel scum in the near future :D  I quite like the way the game offers to auto-resolve a lot of conflicts (as long as they're not directly in the plot line) so if it's late at night and you want to just get a space/land battle out of the way, you can do

RichardWhitely

Yeah, you lose more units that way though than you do if you fought the battle yourself...
