Everyone has their favourite method of playing MoH what's yours? And what is your top tip?

Personally, I never really care how many times I get whacked just as long as I can kill more times than I die. I'm the sort of player that just loves running around the map like some demented shell shocked lunatic filling my opponents with lead as often as I can. I know some players are obsessed with not getting wasted but to me some of the best gameplay can be had when you are running full pelt down some blind alley and end up face to face with  some other mad lunatic and you suddenly realise you only have one round left in your MG!!

Saying that though, sometimes it can be quite satisfying laying low somewhere looking through your sniper scope to find some smart alec who thinks he can't be seen and is happily sat there laying waste to the swarms of enemy ranks or doesnt know the map and is frozen like a rabbit in headlights until of course you pump a fat juicy 7.62mm through his bonce and he is left wondering what the hell happened.

Then of course there are the times when you are having an absolute mare and can't shoot for love nor money and after getting shotgunned in the guts for the eleventh time in a row you shout at the screen and disconnect from the game in disgust without even saying goodbye!! (We've all done it eh!!)

My best tip for newbies is to keep moving at all costs particularly when confronted face to face with a maniacal opponent firing from the hip! Jump and weave and you might just put him off his aim enough to get the killer shot in, under no circumstances stand still because by doing so you may as well draw a target on your chest and shout 'FIRE!!!'

Best tip for more advanced players - I'm often surprised when playing against seasoned MoH gamers that more of you don't use the peek feature to peek around corners, walls, ledges etc You present less of a target to shoot at and there is nothing more frustrating for your opponent than seeing this tiny little head appearing every now and then! Vast amounts of ammo will be wasted trying to pick you off and may give you a chance when you hear his magazine run out to jump out and reduce him to a bloodstained corpse!

Lets hear your best tips and views on gameplay?

Calibrax

my top tips...

1) Listen carefully to the sounds around you, and use the "walk" option to silence your footsteps.

2) Keep moving... once you've killed someone, they know where you are!

3) Use walls to bounce a grenade around a corner.

4) If you see an enemy who hasn't seen you, close the distance between you before you fire so you can hit him accurately. If you start firing too early, he will turn and be able to kill you when your clip runs out...

5) Know your maps. It's very important to learn all the layouts, potential hotspots, safe areas, etc.

6) Have a good memory! Some players will tend to go to the same places on a map, or follow a set route... if you can remember where you've seen them before, then you can often catch them again and again.

7) Practice practice practice practice practice. The more you play, the better you get.

8) Framerates. Don't set your resolution higher than your PC can cope with... the last thing you want is your screen to slowdown in the middle of a firefight.

9) Clean your mouse ball. For those of us who haven't yet made the move to an optical mouse, clean your mouseball regularly, and scrape any gunk off the rollers inside. Smooth, responsive movement is very important!

10) Don't be predictable. Double back on yourself every so often. Try and pretend someone is following you and you're trying to shake them off. Because if you don't do this, then someone WILL end up following you and shooting you in the back. Move erratically, side to side as well as forwards, it makes you a much harder target to hit.

Trust me to duplicate eh!! Ah well some people might benefit and at least all those furry Hamster know know my gameplay style...of course I might just have been bluffing!!!

Tricky

It's good to re-read these things once in a while just to get a reminder of some useful tips that have disappeared from memory...

Excellent point on the leaning around corners Rolf!  8)  I always forget to mention this one. The advanced clan players always use this to great advantage. If you crouch or stand at a corner, facing a wall, then lean out (usually X/C keys), you'll be able to fire your weapon at the enemy but present a far small target in return.

Happy birthday Tricky - hope she's driving tonight

Captain Caveman

Hi HamsteRs,

I'm still learning as many of you who have dispatched me multiple times (eh Lt. Swan    ) will testify too  :D

These sorts of posts are really useful to a beginner at MOHAA but also to online gaming generally. Looking through your suggestions, I am gradually starting to pick some of them, like the leaning round corners and listening for footsteps.

Whilst I'm being dispatched if I can take a few out with me, and learn some stuff on the way then I'm happy.

But above all I'm just here for some fun, and you guys have been a great crowd to meet, the team spirit really comes across.

Cheers guys, see you online soon

Cheers
