Ive seen a lot of posts around about teamsound, but have no idea what it is or how you use it. Is it a part of MOH or is it something you install as a patch or mod?

www.teamsound.com

it's nothing to do with moh as such, but can be used when you play anything as a team - you can talk to each other as you play, and can set different teams up so you only hear your own team

it's very funky, but at least one person has to run the server, and it takes up bandwidth that makes that particular player suffer lag, hence why we don't use it all the time.

Major Lumpy

Thanks Jon, all is now clear  :D

Is this going to be used when we play other teams/clans?

i think the powers that be are considering some alternatives...

Major Lumpy

You don't mean me do you? I'm a.k.a. the thorn in the foot of the dark one when it comes around to making some effort. I need to get on and review our {HamsteR} squad radio options. Ahh yet another job to be done - this {HamsteR} needs prodding regularly so please assist.

/me gets out very sharp prodding stick

Yup noted thanks! :) Arathrael left us a voice server running too which I still haven't gotten around to testing  Who said I had a master plan, eh? I've got ADSL connections too - a Linux based server may be the best solution. Between the three of us - you're running Linux too? - we'll come up with something and get it tested before the big night.

Leave it with me for the time being. This conversation may well carry on in one of the hidden forums a bit later.

mr_sharkeh

well linux it is not :P

I tried erm... mandrake and for some reason or another me mouse decided to die and keyboard went wierd. :o

I think I'm getting too old to learn new things :P so I've got windows XP on there at the moment. Had a quick test and it seemed to work ok.

As not every HamsteR will be playing the games I am sure one of those not fortunate enough to be playing will aloow their computer to be a server for a few hours.

I don't envisage using teamsound in game as I don't yet have a headset and I am too crap to play in the league so my compy is a possible server.

I'll research teamsound

I am behind firewall/router, suspect some knowledge is needed, ummm

Devion
