Aliens vs Predator 2

Anyone played this online?

Have only just started playing it in single player (due to a problem with my old cd drive) and it's got me jumping out of my skin half the time    i'm not sure my heart is going to hold up

I know what you mean, the single player game is very scary!  

I've played it online once. Its frantic and a bit chaotic. You can play as alien or human, but there seems to be a problem I in that the two sides are not very well balanced in terms of weaponry. Everyone wants to play as human, which means if you join the server partway through you are forced to play as an alien. I got fed up after half an hour of this and gave up.  

Wouldn't mind trying it again though, to see if my first impression was wrong. Maybe we should make a booking if there's enough interest in it?

ive got AvP 1 that was bad enough so i think if i got AvP2 some one will find me dead in my chair

You can play as a Predator too. The 3 races are actually pretty well balanced if you've had a bit of practice. It's not uncommon to see an alien top of the scoreboard. The human (Marine or Corporate) are the easiest to pick up and play with i must admit, the pred being the most challenging. I play AvP2 online loads. Hope to see y'all round the servers soon!

Unfortunately Barrysworld dont carry that game on their clanservers, however I am thinking of getting that game, perhaps we could all pile on a server sometime?

Well i played it on a 5-player lan last weekend. Great fun

We played 3 marines vs 1 pred vs 1 alien (praetorian) and
3 marines vs 2 alien drones

seemed to balance out quite well, altho 2 of the marines were doing a good job of being crap...

Typical eh? Why would they send the expansion pack without the game it's supposed to expand. Useful stuff - these peeps are clever y'know

They have no copies of AvP 2 at the main warehouse, its coming from a different warehouse which takes 3-7 days to deliever from. They have truckloads of AvP2 exp. pack copies at the main warehouse (I ordered it from www.eb.uk.com btw) - wish I had walked up the main street to my local eb/game store now! - ah well...

Just read a review of AvP2: Primal Hunt in PCZone.

It got a pretty crappy 64 percent with comments like:

Very Bugged

Repetitive

Less scary than my Gran.

P.S It seems the programmers of AvP2 had nothing to do with the addon.

They would've reviewed it based on what it offers the single player i would've thought. I don't know about everyone else, but i've never completed all the single player stuff in the original AvP2, let alone the expansion. A lot of folks will just get Primal Hunt for what extra bits it provides the multiplayer and because every AvP2 server will probably be running it within not-a-lot-of-time.

Then again i could be totally wrong, which wouldn't surprise me

Has this died a death? I was really lookin forward to a bash at AvP2. Anyone up for it sometime soon?

i've been a bit busy lately.. and i'm on holiday from friday.. if nothing's arranged by the time i get back, i'll set up a server or something for an evening
