Guns gone mad in Single player

I finally decided to play the 1 player game for the first time in ages today. But weird things have happened to all my weapons. The snipers rifle says its got 5 bullets, but once i shoot one, it reloads the whole thing. Also, my smg fires about a million bullets a second, and the bazooka does no damage to anything at all?

Have i downloaded a mod or something that is affecting my game?

It's all weird in single player when you're used to the realism mods. If you want to put your mind at rest, remove all the pk3 files from your main dir other than the pak files. I think you'll prolly find that's just how sp is tho

me thinks not, since i was playing on the sniper alley level (3 i think) and when the tank comes towards you, im shooting it with a bazooka, but nothing happens to it. I dont think im shooting duds....

i had this exact same problem a while back. was due to rogue pk.3 file in main folder. credit to lt.ott for pointing me in th right direction.

sorry but can't remember what rogue file was called, but it was a mod of some kind, not a map.

If you want to put your mind at rest, remove all the pk3 files from your main dir other than the pak files.

ps. i tracked it down the hard way by removing 50% of added pk.3 files at a time to narrow search.
bit long winded, but it worked.

had another look round to see if i could find troublesome beast, but i can't. must have lobbed it.

As far as I can remrmber, the hedgehog mod gives the axis an unfair advantage, ie a rapid fire sniper rifle, a large amount of ammo for all the weapons and the need never to reload since all the ammo was already loaded....

Took me an age to work out what the heck was wrong when hosting games with that on, and I still don't know how it got on to my machine...

hmmm, i cant remember ever downloading any mods other than the blood mod or something. Maybe its that ?

None of the servers put pk3 files on your PC do they? Stupid question, but its one way to explain mods appearing out of nowheresville

Ermmm Hedgehog was a map not a mod Undergrid?!?    

It turned into Rannoch's DM and that doesn't affect anything cos I have it in my \main directory. Cookie (IIRC) had some sort of strange interaction between things that he d/l'd that caused a problem because at the time we all had virtually the same maps on the machines. I remember cos Tricky and I had played the HH map a few days before and neither of us could replicate cookie's problem.

it was just one file causing all the probs definitely though. took it out, it was fine. put it back: weapon madness.

It was a map you removed cookie - I remember that. Tricky and I couldn't replicate what you were seeing so I reckon it was two maps interacting with each other that was your problem. ie each of the maps had different weapon models and something strange happened.

I do remember this and I also remember thinking that you must have downloaded something else as I didn't have the same problem. This was back in the days of the ickle servers where everyone was going off and d/l'ing from various websites instead of just from the pafiledb on here. I suspect the same thing has happened to morpheen.
