So I did an upgrade already and bought another 8GB of ram from Overclockers (weekly special)

Also a 2tb hard drive from Ebuyer (for less than a £100) with a slow spin but it's for storage only.

Interesting, I'm thinking of upgrading my again Q6600 in a few months but I can't get my head around all the chipsets Intel seems to be spewing out these days. 

Why did you choose the Z68 over any of the others (Q65, H/Q/P67)?

I have an X48 (which was high end at the time) so I guess I'll be after something similar, would that be the Z68?

The Z68 is the highest you can go in the sandybridge (socket 1155) line of cpus.

Although there is now the ridiciously expensive Socket 2011 CPU's which use the X79 chipset.

Doesn't the Z68 have a built-in graphics chip?  I guess you can disable that though..

its built into the cpu, theres a thing on the motherboard that enables the on board graphics to be used, but yeah you can turn it off in the bios.

i got an i5 2500k cpu and the mobo its on is a gigabyte z68xp-ud3p and it works fine (unlike the 2 asus mobo's i tried first)
