Celebrity in our midst

NCSoft (creators of City of Heroes) recently announced a competition to find budding comic artists (creators of comic art, not finely honed comedians 'like' calibrax) and one of our very own H.A.M.S.T.E.R. supergroup contains a member who entered the competition.

The brief was to create a small comic story with the title "A day in the double life" and I was given a crafty neb of the entry prior to the closing date. It was pretty damned good too, i can tell you

Not only did i think it was tops, the judges agreed with me, so I have very great pleasure in announcing that our very own Arathrael won first prize for the English-speaking community section.

 

Arathrael along with the section winners from the French and German communities were then considered for the position of Grand Prize Winner; the victor being given VIP tickets to the Brighton Comic Expo in a couple of week's time, plus all sorts of other goodies..

Guess what..

He won that too!

Arathrael's comic will now take pride of place in a limited edition comic that NCSoft will be distributing at the expo, and hopefully it'll go up on the web somewhere so you can all witness just what thumped everyone else for six. So not only do we have a prizewinner, we'll soon be in the company of a published comic artist

I'm sure I only won because it had a cameo by the illustrious Captain Pointy and Cromlech in it.

They'll be putting all the winning comics on the CoH website after the comic expo (19th-20th November) apparently! I'll also pick up a few copies at the expo if anyone wants one.

Other than the comic being published and the accomodation and travel for the Brighton nerd conven- er, I mean, comic expo, there's a copy of City of Villains Collector's Edition (which, um, I already bought), and a couple of t-shirts - a City of Heroes one and a City of Villains one.

I only entered for the t-shirts.
