Having recently picked this up I noticed that I only had a D3D option. Am I correct in saying that OpenGL can be enable by copying a file/files from another folder on the cd? If so, do I need to re-install from scratch and repatch? Whats so special about the nodelta436 patch that I downloaded after following a recommended link? (I am such a sheep :P )

OpenGL is already enabled, no need to copy files. To use it, go to the graphics section and change the renderer. Set it to show all available modes, then choose OpenGL. It wont show up on the reccomended list for some reason...

As for the NoDelta patch: UT was bundled with some hardware, people who got this bundle found that they couldnt install patches as they didnt have a normal UT CD, so epic made the nodelta patch for them.  If you have the G.O.T.Y. Edition, then you dont need any patches, only the 4 bonus packs.

Anyone know why my UT crashes when I try to set it to run at  800x600?

does it dump out or is it just being *really* slow at changing mode?

DubWhizz it doesn't crash, just takes aaaaaaaaaages to change resolution. Change the resolution and then go make a cup of tea, when you come back it will have changed res.
I play games on a:
ZX Spectrum 48K | Grundig C410 cassette recorder (adjustable head) | 20BT TV Philips Multistandard Color V37cm | ZX Interface 2 | New Kempston Compatible Competition Pro Switched Joystick | Sinclair BASIC OS

Calibrax

Just to see if it works, I tried OpenGL mode, and it seems to be ok on my machine... Are there any advantages to running OpenGL over D3D?

Well on my system opngl rendering looks better, but I may just be imagining it ;)
