I patched it, now I don't get the message anymore, but now it just goes to a black screen with "Unreal Tournament" on it. Just before this happens it says "UT-Logo-Map".

Is this a map? with just a logo?

I joined him and we played 1 on 1 the maps are all a bit big for 2 people and we were both quite out of practice we both died more than we killed  

maybe you should put 2 bots on?

just ran the default maps, yeah probably too big for 2 will consider putting minimum 4 players on in the future!!

I'm still intending getting this up and running 24/7 at some point, but it's just too unstable at the mo.. maybe i'll wait and put an ut2003 server up when it comes out

I think both of us were a bit rusty though, that first game where we both died more than we fragged was amusing. But we got better after that

it was odd though the server settings seemed wrong to me, I particularly noticed the lack of air control. Did you turn it down?

i think i did turn it down..always thought there was a bit too much to be sensible..
i think it's the only setting i've fiddled with though - hardcore was set by default so one you'd mentioned it, i changed it to normal.

tonight's game should be a good laugh - we used to play every single day at my old place (programmers vs graphics)

Col and Rover - i gather you're having connectivity issues with my server. I'm not quite sure as to why - i'm getting other visitors on there...

The box is currently running on XP pro, but i'm considering putting 2k on it instead; maybe this will sort out the problem.

I think i'm also going to switch nbfatgun on - it replaces the impact hammer with a bubble gun that you can inflate/burst your opponents with it's not a big file so shouldn't take too long to download.

Crotch Shot may make an appearance too
