Spearhead - Any good?

Things I like :
The new maps are very nice.
More weapons.
British skins.
Better graphics.
No more leaning while moving.

Things I don't like :
The multiplayer name field is too short.
Pace of the game is faster... a bit too fast?
Other players seem more jerky.
Now that leaning and moving are out, I can't do the wiggle no more  

Overall though... it looks pretty good. I might buy it.

I had a problem installing the demo from my first download but I eventually got it up and running after visiting file planet.

Overall I was impressed with the demo, they have added some nice new touches and it all looks very promising

The new weapons and updated voice taunts are cool.  The maps have been improved with added features like being able to blow up certain wallsÃÆ'Ã,¢Ã¢ââ,¬Å¡Ã,¬Ã‚Ã,¦

I do have the same concern as you though Flt Lt Bradshaw (now Calibrax ) as it does appear to be a too fast.....

The only problem I have with the game is the German Granade Launcher.

Games on the Non realism servers just aren't fun when Axis soldiers take a few  hits to drop, but they can just fire at your feet and you're dead.  And of course using the Bazooka is no good because you can't fire when moving, and it takes a second for your sights to come up when you stop.

I see on the server settings you can set it to really fast or original settings for movement speed.  Maybe really fast is the default speed? (Can't remember myself)

Not sure about the jerky bit of other players.  Have to play it a bit more.

The Map level graphics look like they have been tarted up a bit.  Very nice.

I'll buy it anyway.  The movies of the single player look pretty damn impressive and I always like a good single player game.

As most of the servers are people just hosting from home, it doesn't take much for the game to lag badly. Hopefully it'll be better on proper servers.

I'd known about the non lean+strafe for a while now, but as I've never used it doesn't bother me. I know a lot of people who swear by it, but it is very unrealistic.

Personally I think the inabilty to shoot and fire with rockets is good too. I'm not saying there isn't a place for rockets, but it'll hopefully keep the lamers from using them   .

Overall, I enjoyed it and it'll be on my Christmas list.

its so hard to get on a server.
ASE wont support it and the ingame browser is a waste of time.
Everyone i try to connect to is full or passworded

i have never understood why they do this.

I need to speak to a couple of friends of mine, one of them went to his local store and it wasnt there, the thing is, if u buy it from the states, its gonna cost ya ÃÆ'ââ,¬Å¡Ãƒâ€šÃ,£30 as opposed to ÃÆ'ââ,¬Å¡Ãƒâ€šÃ,£17 if u buy it over here in 3 weeks time....

I'll prolly get mine stateside anyway, just cos the S+H wont cost me a penny.... lol
