Looking for opinions on this Anti-Cheat stuff

Well that not all this exploit can do, it can also spawn objects on a map. However according to barrysworld they have installed a 3rd party fix to guard against this particular exploit.

yeah eumc's server keeps getting attacked... they can also teleport you anywhere on the map :/

Is the no fog mod a cheat?? I dont think so, i dont use it personally, didnt even know about it until today, but i dont see the problem with it as long as the server is a no snipers server...

Of course its a cheat...if you are gaining an advantage then its unfair and unacceptable.  You should play the maps as they were intended.

I don't know if cheating goes on or not alot of strange things happen sometimes and I wonder.

One thing I found when I first came to play on the hamsterserver was the skill level of the players was much higher than I had come across on other servers. This led me to believe cheating was going on when in fact ...they really are that good....my level of play matched the level of players I had been up against. I know the consoles don't really like spectators but if you are new try to follow the playes that regularly score well or play the same side as them follow and watch how they play. I have players I regularly watch or follow to try to improve my game. I may be old but not too old to learn a few new tricks. Hopefully oneday .....I will be that good.....

By that Same logic then the realism mod is a cheat, the additional skins are a cheat. I personally dont see the problem with using a mod like that IF the correct circumstances are met on the server, i.e no Sniper rifles, and people know about it. Does this mean that the addition scopes are a hack too? The laser dot ones show you better what the target is that you are going to hit at a greater distance, are they going to be banned too?

Of course this i just my 2 pence worth, and prolly wont be agreed with by 90% of people here, but i dont see the problem with the no fog mod.

Back when i played MCM2 there was a horsepower mod for the bikes, still is in fact, and that was labelled a hack, now i was well against it, and kind of still am, IF ITS HIDDEN FROM THE PEOPLE WHO YOU ARE COMPETING AGAINST!!

Its only a hack if no one knows about it, otherwise its a mod. If its banned on the server then its a hack, if it aint then its a mod.

Just dont want this community to turn into the blood hungry section of the MCM2 community who are quite ready to hang draw and quarter anyone who is found using the hackbike on the zone.

I personally wont use any hacks, i like to know i've whipped people the proper way, makes me even happier when i whip people who do use hacks... great fun and very satisfying lol

I agree with what Wolverine says about there being a difference between a hack that people don't know about and a mod that people know about and AGREE with its use. The realism mod that we use on the server is applied equally to all players so that's obviously fine. Other hacks like fog hacks and wall hacks give you a huge advantage on some maps and would get you banned instantly from our servers (with little chance of a successful appeal) when you get found out. The scopes and similar client side mods are a grey area but I don't see that they give any significant advantage anyhow.

The good thing about this community is firstly, there's a good strong core of admins who wouldn't let that happen, and secondly, anyone using these sort of hacks to suddenly 'improve' their 'skills' is going to get sussed pretty quickly by the other regular players.

Like you said Wolverine, you didnt know about the no fog hack, but now you do.
knowing about it doesnt give anyone the right to use it,
( I'm not saying you would )
because there are others who dont know of it or know of it but dont use it.
the realism mod is not hidden if you ask if its there ppl will tell you,
they are not so likely to tell you they are cheating.
hope they do something to stop the cheats,
other wise MOH will just end up like CS

I know that knowing about something doesnt give you the right to use it, all i am saying is that the difference between a hack and a mod is the fact that people know about it!

I never would use any unauthorised mods, but i have to say that the use of a custom scope can be a serious advantage on most maps, and i personally dont agree with the use of them. I'll post a link later which shows why i feel this way.... busy at work at the minute
