Map naming?

Hi all,

Just a curious question.. 8O  Why are'nt the maps named as one see them in, say, all seeing eye :?:  I was just now looking for a map called "dmga1", at least that is what it was called in ASE,  but how do I know what the name for it is on the downloads page?

Maybe there is a simple answer to this and I misunderstood something, but if not, this must be a good suggestion:
 Name the map on the server the same as the actual name of the file.

That's all, happy hunting 8)

We name the maps with the titles that their authors gave them - they created them and it is simple courtesy to use the names they chose.

There is a list of maps along with their filenames and rcon names here. It hasn't been updated to cover the maps which have gone on this week as I haven't had the time or inclination to do it yet  :D

Oh, ok.  I totally understand why they are named as they are, I was just suggesting that the little filname could be in there somwhere along with the ordinary name

I had started on a file listing file name, rcon name and the descriptive name with a link to the download embedded. But, the maps change often (don't they Riz :D ) I couldn't even get a first attempt online. Perhaps when the nights get colder and I think of an efficient way of doing it I will.
