Last night around 2145 I got a phone call from a Jolt techie. We chatted for about 15 minutes and he was most apologetic about the way we'd been treated. Anyway it turns out that for RTCW and UT we would have had remote access to stop/start/change the game process, but not for MoHAA. The reason for this is apparently down to the software they use to allow clanserver owners to control game processes. They have plans to use Windows Terminal Services to give clanserver owners more control, but nothing is firmed up yet. If at any point in the future we decide to go back with Jolt I have this guy's home phone number (he lives about 2 miles away from me), so at least we could get info pretty fast.

To cut to the chase so to speak he is passing our order back to accounts and we should get a refund without any problems. We shall wait and see....

I've now received confirmation that the refund has occurred. I'll send a cheque to Scooby tomorrow - the other three people not involved in the Barryserver will have their cheques ripped up tomorrow.

Yep - I think it's a damn good job it all went pear-shaped for the Jolt server. At least Barry's is only a one month contract and don't take 5 days to respond to an email.....
