Dear god, are IT Admins totally thick?

If she had googled the following http://www.google.co.uk/search?hl=en&q=merry+christmas+email+virus+hoax&meta=

She would have found millions of hits about this hoax, even just hit the first fucking link!!! fucktard... Even if she went and looked on symantec, or even any of the other anti-virus companies they dont mention about merry christmas trojan.

Please be aware there is a Trojan computer virus is circulating via email (see below).

I have checked this out on the internet and it does not seem to be a hoax. Therefore if you receive any emails titled 'Merry Christmas' DO NOT OPEN IT, DELETE IT IMMEDIATELY.

You should be alert during the next days:

Do not open any message with an attached file called 'Merry Christmas'  regardless of who sent it, It is a virus that opens as an Open Log Fire and will burn the whole hard disc in your computer.

This virus will be received from someone who has your e-mail address in his/her contact list, that is why you should send this e-mail to all  your contacts. It is better to receive this message 25 times than to receive the virus and open it.

If you receive a mail called 'Merry Christmas', though sent by a friend, do not open it and shut down your computer immediately. This is the worst  virus announced, it has been classified by Microsoft as the most destructive virus ever.

This virus was discovered yesterday, and there is no repair
yet for this kind of virus. This virus simply destroys the Zero Sector of the Hard Disc, where the vital information is kept

I get so much of this shite forwarded to me now that I've actually given up telling people they are hoaxes and shouldn't be forwarded. It's like banging your head against a brick wall.

The worst thing is when someone sends one to a mailing list, because you can guarantee that, within 10 minutes, 200 people who THINK they are web-savvy will reply saying "dont forward this, it's a hoax" but they have used "reply to all" so the entire mailing list gets an extra couple of hundred emails. Then of course you get a handful of people replying to that saying "please stop sending me these emails".... 

I love the delete button on my PC.

There is one person in the finance department here that used to get taken in by these kind of things and forwarded them to the whole company.  I sent her a link to snopes with the advice that if she didn't want to keep looking like an idiot, she'd check there first before forwarding any emails.
