I've just been told that the project has been canned. WO will not appear as a finished product.

You heard it here first.

lol Games Workshop games normally "look" good but then you play them...

Dawn of War has to be the only one i actually enjoyed.

Firewarrior was just ****, oh yea 20 boltgun rounds to the face of an imperial guardsman and he is still running around... either his 6+ armor save dice is loaded or something sucks...

It's... alive! Run! Before the zombie thread devours your brains! Ruuuuun!

Ahem.

Anyway, Warhammer Online is being done by Mythic (http://www.mythicentertainment.com/warhammer/) (Dark Ages of Camelot) people now - it's just the intellectual property though, they're developing an entirely different game.

agreed, but WO actually did look good when climax entertainment were building it (yes that is a real software house) i was party to the odd screenshot as my brother was working on the AI for the game at the time.

i also know that climax fell of their chairs when they saw firewarrior - i'm not saying the team that made firewarrior sucked, but they were the suckiest bunch of sucks that ever sucked.

what killed WO at climax was a healthy mixture of politics and mismanagement. unfortunately games workshop continually meddled with the project in an unconstructive way. Relic/THQ resisted such meddling with DoW which is why it a) got finished and b) was/is actually quite good!

theirs an expansion out for DoW in the next couple of months. Lets u play the imperial guard and the story line is fighting over a lost Warlord Titan (hmm sounds familiar...)  but still... should be good.
