It's not how it looks, it how it plays :P

Impressive screenies, but, as Lot said, a game is so much more than fancy GFX :)

well, until web technology moves on somewhat, i can't impart gameplay experience via a phpbb forum thread :P

you could do worse than visit the official site and take a look at what the game has to offer.

i'm whetting your appetite, not selling you the game you grumpy old men :D

Now you sound like an Aussie!

But I have to agree - those graphics do look very impressive.

Graphics sure looks good, but Operation Flashpoint would also have great graphics. :(

I'm not sure what you meant Scoob!

OPF is great though. I must dust those CDs off again sometime.

Those landscapes are looking great :-)

The funny thing about all of the outdoor shots is that it's one thing that makes them look really cool and unique to that game - and it's not the ground or the buildings but the sky. That struck me as unusual for a game.

Should check out some of the custom skys for MCM2, now they would blow you away as well....

Does look purty good though, may have to invest in that game....

When I played it I hardley could see the difference between a soldier and a bush :(
Had a 64Mb card at the time, so that wasn't the problem.
Maybe just my opinion, but compared with other games I ddint like the graphics at all.

War is hell! Those pesky soldiers. The problem is they hide in the bushes and wear those dark green clothes. Makes them awful hard to see!

Seriously, I never had a problem with the graphics. The enemy was sometimes hard to spot but I think that's the idea. OpF has to be the most realistic war game I ever played - it wouldn't be so good if the enemy looked like characters from UT2k3.

Taken from here:

http://stalker.myexp.de/en/index.php?site=newscomment2.php&id=1847

As cpcat, moderator of the official Russian boards, could worm out of Anton Bolshakov (deputy director), S.T.A.L.K.E.R. will not hit shelves of games retailers in 2005.

"In two words, to sum up an ICQ chat: when the plot is fully implemented (it is being completed), the simulation will be finally tuned. This is what the team is doing right now.

The game will certainly not come out this year.

Look for the beginning of the wide advertising campaign, as it will mean half a year until the release."

In addition, several journalists, who maintain good relationships with publisher THQ, confirmed this information.

Still got my Pre-order from 18th March 2004 at Play.com for ÃÆ'ââ,¬Å¡Ãƒâ€šÃ,£17.99.  Maybe one day it'll arrive.

And compared to Duke Nukem Forever & Team Fortress 2, this game is only a baby in delayed terms :D

I could have picked up a legit copy of this game for £7 in the Ukraine, didn't find a shop in time  :?

Might have one sent to me. Anyone playing it?

It's made by a Ukrainian developer as  well...
