Dump the crap map based on the last level of the subpens
Option 1: Yes, dump this map

Option 2: No, I like the allies to line up like sheep
votes: 2
Was playing on Ham-5 on Sunday. Got to a team map based on the last part of the single player mission where you escape the sub pens, I think.
The map degenerated to revolving around a doorway and short piece of U shaped corridor. The allies would be killed by axis lobing grenades and covering the corner of the corridor.
(rant)
WHAT A STEAMING PILE OF YOU KNOW WHAT. DUMP THIS MAP. ITS DIRE. NO GAMEPLAY VALUE WHATSOEVER.
(rant off)
Can we please dump this, (idea) lets have a pole.
Apologies to anyone offended in any way
Sorry SOLOman, but I don't know which map you refer to 8O If someone cares to enlighten me, I will be sure to vote.
i've not seen it either.. but with the number of maps that are on hammy 5 these days, it's not difficult to miss a few!!
The map name is:-
dm/bosubmarine
The only one with Sub pens that I know of is the Bosubmarine map.
Is that the one you mean SOLOman?
Edit: You just pipped me there Spikey
Think he means nestate2, where allies spawn in the back of a jeep, short run in through double doors, then up 3 stairs, a single door. Everyone gets stopped there by the axis?
Unfortunatly your all wrong he was refering to Black Onyx energy bunker. also see my post "Maps I would like Banned". it refers to the same map.
sorry bravo22 i think skid is right with the map :D
Sorry guys. I'm away from home at the moment so cant check the map name.
The map in question is the last level of the single player mission where u escape from the subpens. The level ends when u run accross to a railway car while being covered from the car.
The level features some air ducts that axis can spawn into with grills that allow them to look/shoot onto a staircase.
The choke point in question features a fairly large chamber on the Axis side with a sunken T shaped section with a ramp down and some railings around it.
The allies spawn in the open and must pass through a door and into a short U shaped section that leads to the open chamber i just mentioned.
By camping out in this area the axis can cover the u shaped section and shoot/grenade the allies as they enter. Should the Allies be able to kill the Axis covering the U shaped corridor then any Axis using the sunken section as cover can kill any breajout attempt cold.
I played this on Sunday and I think Bravo was present so he mey have the correct name (shrug)
Apologies for rambling on but this map really is a waste of space.
To any who enjoy the mass killing opportunities this map gives
"You pathetic desendants of monkeys!!!!!" (10 bonus point to name the game)
Thanks for lisening
P.S. I LIKE GLOBAL OPS :D :P  8O
is it snowy outside with loads of boxes infront of the entrance door?
I think i know the one you mean, have to admit i've enjoyed playing that level, i thought the challenge of getting up the stairs was a worthy one ;)
That the one where some people spawn in mid air???
if it's the one i'm thinking of skid, then yes.
I've seen one spawn point in mid-air near the boxes, but never really saw much of an advatage/disadvantage with it
It is the black onyx energy map in question. It's a linear one, so it depends how far either side gets towards the others spawn point, and whether you can manage to push them back as to how long they spend mass killing you if they get you pinned in. Playing as the allies last night, all the action revolved around the stairs - they couldn't get down, we couldn't get up (both sides managed it - briefly :)). Lots of grenade fun to be had too
It's an ok map for the odd blast I reckon, and there's a different sort of tactics involved when it's played as a tdm map. I can see how it'd lose its appeal with repeated plays though.
I was on there with you Arathrael, and although come the end us allies had got to the top of the stairs and were picking the axis off as they popped around the corner I can also see how it could become rapidly boring.
Virtually all the maps have a bottleneck where both sides end up in a mass shoot out, mostly around one sides spawn point. This can be frustrating if your constantly being killed, but once you can break out of your spawn area and push the enemy back it can be great fun. :)
The only annoying thing is the long run you have to do to get to the battle areas, the black onyx energy map being a classic example. Especially if your axis and spawn in the air ducts, could that vent be any longer? Anyway black onyx energy map is okay in team dm, but bloody horrible in ffa, especially if you have the misfortune to spawn outside. Average life expectency 10 secs or less, especially the spawn in mid air, might as well have a big sign saying shoot me over your head
ive seen a U.s site saying moh mission pack is coming out in august , has any one else heard any thing about the uk version
Is this (http://www.alliedassault.com/ubb/Forum8/HTML/000228.html) the item you're referring to my furry friend ?
Must admit I've never been in a game where the allies manage to get to the stairs. Could this be because I usually play Axis
I agree with SOLOman that on TDM it becomes a slaughter with the Allies on the spit. Strangly I prefer it on FFA as with a mix of sneeking/ camping/ balls out running you can sometimes manage to have fun, which is as I say more than you can normally get on TDM.
Never played it in an organised game with TS on this one, could possibly be a good tactical challenge.
Anyway each to his (or her) own.
Is it just me? or does anyone else not like the map called riverside??????
just seams like a lot of spawn killing all the time :?
i dont ethere Lt.swan its crap :x

yeah...true...it sucks
Riverside isn't a particularly big map. it's difficult to play aggresively without getting to the enemies' spawn point quickly. I can think of a lot of maps that are like that tbh.
It's not a bad map as such, but you will suffer if there are a large number of players on it.
I used to hate Riverside. I used to play on the Axis team and every time we'd end up pushing the Allies back to their spawn area which got very boring because then it's the end of the contest. Nowadays I switch to the allied side, lug my MG up the ladder to the roof of the building that overlooks the main street and river and blast away. It's hilarious because 9 times out of the 10 the enemy never even see where I have shot them from.
The map requires an admin to be there to stamp out spawnkilling. When I'm on I'm very firm and kick deliberate (and proven) spawnkillers immediately. I proved that when you were on there the other day Devion! (NB Devion wasn't the one getting kicked! :) )
I think it's worth keeping the map for now. It'll probably get superceded soon anyhow.
Yeah Riverside is okay, you just got to rush out of the spawn area and make 100% usage of the buildings, its not a big map, but can be okay with around 10-11 players on it :D

*phew* I thought you caught me...no.....I try not to spawn kill....
