My mic drops, ie is not working as soons as the game starts, and when I close the game, it works again. Anyone got any ideas?

Just a guess but if you're using TS2 then try increasing the priority of the TS2 process. You might be able to do this in TS2 itself or you may have to use Task Manager. That may or may not fix it. The other thing to check is that you have the latest drivers for your soundcard.

This happens regardless if I use TS or not. As soon as I start the game up, the microphone drops, and when exiting the game it works again. I have tried every setting in game, as well as outside the game.

I downloaded the latest drivers from creative just now, but no change.

My specs:

P4 2.0 Ghz
XP Home SP1 (all updates from Win Upd)
SB Live 5.1 (New drivers)
512 Ram

After browsing several forums, I found what caused this behaviour. It seems like VC - by some strange reason - changes my microphone settings in Windows sound options. When I start the game I have the mic set on 50%, but when alt+tab in the game, I see that the settings for the mic is down to 0. I just put the lever up and alt+tab back in game and it works :D

/me and Wittmann can play the co-op for real ;)

Theres a patch for it. Don't know if you know that its 0.98

But isn't that patch for the MP demo*? I got this problems on the retail version.

There's a patch for the retail ver as well, I think it's 1.01 :scratch: can't remember now. I know it fixed a few issues that I had. I got it from...ah crap....Fileshack ? Sorry I am being so vague, new computer and have been installing and patching like crazy so I kinda get mixed up sometimes.

theres the 1.2 patch you need now be careful you need to put patch 1.01 then the 1.2 patch followed by the no cd if you get it wrong you will be uninstalling

Haven't played it since I got Vice City, and with my current lifesituation (moving, working way too much and beautiful weather) it seems like I wont be able to try it with the new patch until the autumn :(
