Prolly your mailprogram left all the crap out the mail. So leaves you with nothing as we all know SOE is good at communicating nothing but crap.

Yeah, a lot of modern email clients (Thunderbird and Outlook for example) don't download images from websights any more to protect you from those annoying bun images.

In the end though, the content of the mail message is about the same.

I thought you meant something else...  That Freud bloke has a lot to answer for!

The whole "content" of the email was links to images of words on SOE's website.  It was probably approved by the same QA team that tests game code: "Looks fine in OE, send it!"
